Romance in D
Two "side by side" apartments in Chicago are the settings for this comedy in which Charles Norton, a musicologist who lives alone with his books and music, inadvertently saves the life of his neighbor, Isabel Fox, a poet on the verge of divorce.
Charles Fox, Isabel's father, comes to town to cheer her up, while Helen Norton, Charles' mother, who lives to be the "chicken soup fairy" stocking Charles' refrigerator weekly as only a devoted mother could, encourages him to get to know his new neighbor, Isabel. Through a series of charming, if improbable, events, not only do Charles and Isabel "connect", but their parents meet and, perhaps, find love.
All four characters use their knack for music and for words as they nervously navigate the paths of true love. This is a charming and subtle comedy, guaranteed to bring a smile to all of us who have experienced the intricacies of relationships!
